Zrće is a long pebble beach on the Adriatic island of Pag in the northern part of the Croatian coast. It is located near Novalja and Gajac, about 2 kilometres from the town’s center. It is one of over 100 Blue Flag beaches in Croatia, having been given the award in 2003.
The Zrće beach is a Croatian summer destination for partygoers, with several all-hours discotheques and beach bars operating during summer months. It regularly features gigs by internationally known house and trance DJs at the peak of the Croatian summer season in July and August. “Papaya” is a club on Zrće beach which has hosted DJs and festivals including Godskitchen and Swedish House Mafia. In 2010, DJ Magazine voted Papaya Club in its Top 100 venues in the world and Axwell named the club his gig of the year. Papaya has hosted Hideout festival in conjunction with Aquarius, also on Zrce beach since 2011. In 2011, Papaya Club hosted a heat of Miss Clubs, an international beauty contest.
If you’re planing to visit Zrće you have a couple of different options regarding your way of travel. The easiest, fastest and cheapest way to arrive at Zrće is to book a flight to Zadar, Split or Rijeka. Zadar is the closest destination to Novalja, only 1 hour drive from it to Zrće, while Split and Rijeka are further away, 2.5 hour and 2 hour drives away, respectively. When you arrive at one of the airports, the most practical mode of transportation would be the bus or car transfer. If you are not a fan of flying you could always sail on a boat or yacht directly to Pag.
